Time to Amplify your content
This is something we have all heard multiple times. Site owners and developers spend time and money to generate content so their site can be found by Google and rank high enough in the search results to be seen. It’s an incredibly competitive market and one thing that most people are unaware of is backlinks and content amplification.
Understanding marketing, whether online or not, requires attention to the many facets of marketing, advertising and technology.
If you’ve done all that well, then you need to get your content seen by the public or whomever your target audience is. This involves trying to get press releases posted on media sites, and coming up with the latest and greatest search terms and phrases.
How do you get your material posted on other sites, or media sites, and what’s the benefit of that? We’ll answer the last part first. The benefit is that when Google or another search engine sees your material being referenced, linked to or even re-posted, that tells them someone else has found your content interesting. And, to be sure, you have to have that for the search engines to take your content seriously. If you don’t, they won’t. It’s pretty much that simple.
So, how do you assure that the search engines know that someone else is finding your content interesting and valuable? Remember the old days when people traded links? Apparently, Google figured that out so that doesn’t help you anymore.
You can call webmasters at other companies and try to get them to link to your site. Great idea, but really hard to do. A lot of people would do this, but the mechanics of how this has to be done is a little too complicated. You could have people mention your site in a blog and put a link to your site and maybe you get a few mentions somewhere.
To get listed in many places there are companies who offer this service. They spend their time and resources contacting and identifying media outlets and websites who are actively looking for content. Many times, they want your content. Some companies have relationships with thousands of outlets who openly invite you to submit your content. They provide you with a structure for it, length, and evaluate it for you. They can even write your content from scratch, or give you a template with some key words and phrases.
This is a specialized endeavor that requires a lot of time and work, so it isn’t cheap, but you can see your content posted on hundreds of websites. You’re not paying to have your content posted, what you’re paying for is the company to find places who want to post your content and doing it in a way that they will accept your content.
This is a critical part of getting your site and content listed and viewed, so if you’re not doing it yourself, you really need a subscription, or agreement for someone else to do it for you.
